The definitive release of these sessions, can be found on Follow That Dream's limited edition The Harum Scarum Sessions 3xCD set, where everything has been mixed and remastered from scratch, and all masters and outtakes are presented in the best possible sound.
The original master of 'Shake That Tambourine' was spliced as follows:
00:00 - 00:19 = Take 27 (
“Shake the little tambourine, shake a-ring a-ching-ching-a-ling, shake, shake, my little dancing queens, shake that tambourine, that tambourine”)
00:19 - 01:11 = Take 41 (
“I can hear them dancin’ in the marketplace…” up to
“… then they’ll shake that thing for me alone”)
01:11 - 01:13 = Repair / insert from 00:33 to 00:35 of Take 41 (
“Rings on the fingers”)
01:13 - 01:21 = Take 41 (“Bells on the toes, they make music, wherever they go, pound that little drum now, tap it with your thumb”)
01:21 - 01:27 = Insert taken from 01:44 to 01:53 of Take 41 (“Shake, shake that little tambourine, shake a-rig-a-rig-a-ding-dingeling, shake, shake my little dancing queens”)
01:27 - 01:30 = Insert from Take 41 (
“[Shake] that tambourine, that tambou…”)
01:29 - 01:34 = Insert taken from 00:51 to 00:56 of Take 41 (
“… rine” and solo)
01:34 to 02:02 = Rest of Take 41
On the FTD set The Harum Scarum Sessions however, what is listed as being the remixed master (CD1, track 6) and the spliced master (CD2, track 5), are spliced differently to the original master (CD3, track 21)!
Page 3 of the booklet with this set incorrectly lists 38 takes of 'Shake That Tambourine' (C-2004 to C-2041), even though the session for this song starts at "C-2001" making 41 takes in total. On page 12 it incorrectly shows that the master was spliced from takes 24 and 38 (C-2027 & C-2041) but it should be takes 27 and 41.

The songs 'Baby, If You'll Give Me All Your
Love', 'Let Yourself Go' and' Please
Don't Stop Loving Me' were originally submitted
to be used for the movie, but were eventually
dropped. They were, however, used in later movies
(Double Trouble, Speedway and Frankie And
Johnny).
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
Thanks to Rudi Stiller for an estimation of how the original master of 'Shake That Tambourine' was spliced.
